About me
A lovable teddy bear whenever I'm not a douche. As a movie-goer, the more I watch movies my taste becomes, funny enough, more and more unimaginative and boring.
Crime thrillers, adventures 'n' action. The key to my heart but basically anything with a good story goes.
My favorite film makers include John Woo, Clint Eastwood, Michael Mann, Spielberg, Hitchcock and many others.
I rate movies by how I feel deep inside about them instead of evaluating and analyzing too much mainly to stay truthful to myself but also that this hobby of mine wouldn't become forced. However I do try thinking about things I like/dislike so I can provide some sort of an explanation when asked.
I've been more or less, depending on the "era", interested in movies since I was 10 but I still consider myself walking in the baby shoes. I haven't even scratched the surface of mainstream movies, let alone less known ones, but that's OK with me. I have no rush.
Ratings:
1 - 1,5:
In many ways a dull, irritating and poorly executed film. But still just as much of an achievement as a 4,5 - 5 rated film if that makes any sense. You really have to try in order to be that bad.
2 - 2,5: Still dull but can't point out flaws so accurately. Except for Revenge of the Ninja. That movie is so bad but so friggin fun at the same time I can't possibly give it 1 or 5.
3 - 3,5: Rating I often give when I have very little to say. If I like watch without concentrating it's fair to give this something-in-between rating. Even more fair would be to give no rating at all but oh well. Demands another watch.
Decent films usually start from 3,5.
4: Really good. Movies that I find personal but still flawed if you take a critical look. Or on the other hand, movies that weren't really flawed but I didn't care for them that much.
4,5: Now we're getting flawless (that is I'm blind to flaws). I can squeeze a lot out of these movies, they're exciting and thrilling, the script works, entertaining all the way through. Something I truly admire. Something that I might raise to 5.
Also a place for a couple of my favorite action movies that I hold dear to me even if they didn't really deserve the rating. That's according to my rating system a couple of years ago.
Only seven 4,5s this year.
5: The test of time. No movie, or at least very few of them, gets 5 instantly. It has to have a special place in my heart after years. Nostalgic ones.
